Sitting on the dock of the bay ...

It's funny to reflect back on the past year. In the past year, I've released two novels and written a third. I'm about to start on my fourth and fifth and it doesn't feel like I'm going to slow down anytime soon.

I finished Damaged on December 1st and handed it to my editor - who has told me I should be very, very, very proud of it. I guess that is a good thing, right? I'm nervous about getting it back but also very excited. Damaged is my first romance. Shattered will be my second, before I head back to writing crime again. I can't wait to introduce you to Jaxon and Lexi.

Shattered will be a tough write, as it deals with the tender topic of domestic abuse before I slide into betrayal, secrets and serial killers with Deadly Secrets. My last book for 2014, will be Lucky, which will also deal with the topic of suicide. Anyone, who knows me knows that I will never write light, fluffy happy ever afters. It's not me. It doesn't mean I can't write amazing stories with characters who get the girl - or guy.

I'm currently on a well - deserved break, but it's also a research trip of sorts. Deadly Secrets is set in San Francisco, so it seems only fitting that I am currently in San Francisco. The last time I was here, I was so very young and impressionable and hopelessly in love with a boy and with San Francisco.

Coming back, I'm older, wiser and still in love with that boy. I always will be - even if he is now bittersweet memories. And, it turns out I'm still in love with San Francisco. This city is beautiful and it's changed a lot since I was here last, but it still leaves me breathless. I see the Golden Gate Bridge and I'm in awe, just as I was at 18.

I'm really excited to be in San Francisco, as it plays an important part in Damaged. It also plays a major part of Deadly Secrets. I started writing Deadly Secrets over the past few days and I have to admit, I'm really excited to be slipping back into crime.

I'm also really excited to announce that Damaged's cover will be revealed on the 23rd of December. It's only fitting it's revealed on my birthday.

I hope you all have a happy holiday.

  1. Congrats on all that you accomplished last year! Wow!

How awesome that you have been in San Francisco. I love that city! I haven't been back for a few years, but there are so many amazing sights and everything looks so different depending on the weather and time of day. Glad it is still magical for you. :)

    Wishing you a wonderful 2014.
